About Us

In May of 1915, John M. Kessler, Helen T. Kessler, and Thomas S. Maguire founded Kessler & Maguire Funeral Home. To better serve area families, they built a new facility on West 7th Street in 1926. With a unique Old English theme, it was the first building in St. Paul specifically constructed as a funeral home.

In later years, the funeral home was purchased by John L. Lepak of St. Paul. In 1998, Mr. Lepak partnered with Tom Vertin, a long-time funeral director from Breckenridge, Minnesota. The team at Kessler & Maguire Funeral Home is dedicated to upholding their long legacy of caring for families in St. Paul and the surrounding area, now and far into the future.
