Abel Pliego

Abel Pliego Jr., a cherished soul who touched the lives of many, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2024, at the age of 39. He was a devoted family member, always putting the needs and happiness of his loved ones above all else. Born on June 27, 1985, Abel lived a life filled with love, compassion, and spirituality. He was known for his unwavering beliefs and the way he embraced the beauty of the world and the people around him. Abel's greatest joy was his family. He found immense happiness in spending time with family, supporting them in their endeavors, and being a guiding light in their lives. He leaves behind his wife, children, parents, and many close family members, who will forever cherish the memories and the love generously shared. In addition to his devotion to family, Abel was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him. His spirituality and beliefs were a guiding force in his life, offering comfort and hope to those around him. He made an impact on everyone he met. 

Abel is survived by his wife Candice Pliego, children Amiah, Abel III, and Aria Pliego; father Abel Pliego Burgos (Idalia de Leon); mother Leona Pliego (Jesus Favela); siblings Brisia, Joseph, Amy Pliego (Fernando Vega), Jack Salcido (Angela Omana), Kelly Pliego; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by grandparents Hedilberta and Macario Pliego Rosas, Gloria (Dupey) and Concepcion Cuellar; uncles Arthur, Clarence, and Wade Dupey; aunt Yolanda Rubio.

A visitation will be held on August 1, 2024, at Kessler & Maguire Funeral Home (640 7th St. W., St. Paul, MN) from 4-7PM. A funeral service will be held on August 2nd, 2024, at 11:00AM, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery (927 Jackson St., St. Paul, MN) at 12:30PM. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.

Abel's legacy of love, spirituality, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those 

who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
