Arden Bjornberg

Arden M. Bjornberg (79) passed away peacefully on March 23, 2018 with loving family at his side. He is preceded in death by his father Joseph, mother Margaret and Three brothers; Ronald, Eldred and Elroy.

Arden is survived by by his wife Janice; daughter Barb Gilbertson-Bastys (Jim) and son Gary (Kim); grandchildren, Briana Anderson (Tyler), Heather Jo Voss (Bill), Sara Ison (BJ) and Tim (Kristen); 8 great grandchildren; his sister Jodell Kline and several nieces and nephews. All who knew him will miss his practical jokes, love of water and kindness.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an air traffic controller, was a skilled woodcarver, had a love for road trips that brought him to 49 states and many Canadian provinces, retired from North Star Steel and was an active member at The Historic Fort Snelling Chapel. He was loved by many and adored by all, especially those who affectionately called him “Grandpa Honey”.

A Graveside Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 6 at 11:45 at Fort Snelling cemetery (Assembly Area #5), with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Arden's life.
