In Loving Memory of Cheryle Raynette Towns
Cheryle Raynette Towns, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on November 27, 2023, at the age of 56. She was born on December 13, 1966, in New York City, NY, and lived most of her life in Minnesota around the Twin Cities metro area. Cheryle was preceded in death by her parents, Gwendolyn Towns in 2003 and James Towns Sr in 2019, each whom she loved fiercely and grieved deeply.
Cheryle will be remembered for her quick and clever wit, and for being insightful, authentic, strong-willed, and determined. While her persistence and stubbornness sometimes contributed to conflict, there was never a doubt of the deep love she held for her family and friends. Her children remember how hard she fought the pain and health complications of lupus through most of her adult life, while still taking care of them and pursuing her many interests. She was a unique and remarkable person who made a point of taking the time to tell others how much she loved and valued them.
Cheryle leaves behind her children Quentin, Michael, Diamond and Gamilah; her brothers, James Towns, Jr (Brenda Petry); John Towns (Jamie Towns); nieces and nephew Azalea, Jaelyn, and Jackson; her maternal extended families (Jackson / Nobles); her paternal families (Towns); and her Godparents and god-siblings in the Smith Family.
Visitation and a celebration of Cheryle’s life will take place on Friday, December 15, at Kessler & Maguire Funeral Home, at 640 West 7th Street in St. Paul, MN, with visitation from 4:00-5:30 and a service at 5:30. All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring professionals at Kessler & Maguire Funeral Home.
Cheryle Raynette Towns' departure has left a void in the lives of those who loved her dearly. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will be cherished forever. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of our creator.
Rest in peace, dear Cheryle. We love you.
