Snyder, John A. "Duke" Age 73
West Sider Peacefully on Jan. 22, 2012 of cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Mark and Margaret; brother, James. Survived by sister-in-law Judith Snyder; nephews Jeffrey (Beth) and Jon; great-nephews Jake and Judd; aunt Virginia Russell; cousins and many friends; including best friends Martin "Skip" Levine and Gene Befort. Lifelong resident of the West Side, a 1956 Humboldt High grad, and a US Army vet. John was a journeyman printer, enjoyed his golf group, hot rod assoc. meets and travelling. He was very active in community affairs and AmVets Post #5. A volunteer at the VA Medical Center, with Disabled American Vet's, Ft. Snelling military museum and other vet's groups. Mass at 11AM, Thursday, Jan 26, at St. Matthews Church, 490 Hall Ave, St Paul, with Visitation 1 hour prior. Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery immediately following mass. Special thanks to Health Partners/Regions hospice and Southview Acres. As was Duke's generous nature, donations, in lieu of flowers, sent to DARTS, DAV, or St Matthews Church is appreciated.
