Josephine Roesler

December 22, 1909 — February 17, 2012

Passed away peacefully in her home in Scottsdale, Arizona on Friday morning February 17, 2012 at the grand age of 102. Predeceased by her husband William "Dutch" and son William Arnold "Putz", she is survived by her children Janice (William) Trenter, Richard (Susan), daughter-in-law Gretchen; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Josephine was born on December 22, 1909 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She married "Dutch" in 1932 and immediately became part of a large loving family. Always a hard worker, she achieved high levels of responsibility with the Telecommunication Dept. of the State of Minnesota, and at one time was the Chief Operator at the State Capitol. Throughout her life, Josephine displayed a strong sense of priority towards her family, faith and friends. She moved to Arizona in 1989 and kept busy with her many hobbies and interests. Josephine loved family vacations and had many happy memories of trips to Hawaii, Arizona, Pittsburgh. Florida, Las Vegas, Canada, and fishing in northern Minnesota. Jo also loved tending her beautiful rose garden, playing cards, Scrabble, and was an avid bowler—achieving a 200 game at the age of 93. A memorial Service was held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Phoenix. Funeral Service10 AM Monday march 5 at ST MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, W. 7th & Goodhue, St. Paul. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. Life Member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be greatly appreciated if directed either to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 550 W. 7th St, St. Paul MN 55102 or Hospice of the Valley—Administration Building 1, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014.
