Kenny Peterson, 63 years young and a long time resident of the West 7th neighborhood, transitioned to Heaven on August 6, 2015. Ken was born on May 22, 1952 in St. Paul, MN to Rosalie & Harold Peterson. Ken was a graduate of Monroe High School. He went on to serve in the US Navy, which was a passion of his. Ken then worked at the Schmidt Brewery for 27 years. He loved his most recent job at St. Kate's, along with all of his co-workers. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending much time at his ice fishing house on Mille Lacs Lake. He shared a lot of time with his wife Val and went on many beautiful vacations in Northern MN. Ken was very involved in his church and sang in the contemporary choir until cancer took his voice away. He rose above it, because that was Ken. Ken was preceded in death by his grandparents, the Jerovics and the Petersons, as well as his father Harold Peterson. He is survived by his wife Val and son Zachary. Also survived by brother Bob (Marsha) and their sons Nate (Teresa) & Mike. Also survived by brother Randy (Gerrie) and their sons Brian (Patty) and Bradley. Also survived by his beautiful mother Rosalie. We want to thank Ken's entire medical team that treated him the last two years: Dr. Naylor, Dr. Ducker, Amy, Dr. Farniak, and all the wonderful and compassionate nurses at MN Oncology. We are so grateful for the whole Hospice team, each nurse being as wonderful as the other. Moe – you are a special angel. Also want to thank Howard Klingbeil and Rick Volkman who were close friends of Ken. Thank you to our supportive families, including our church family who were always there for us. We are blessed. Memorial service on August 15, 11:00AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church (530 South Victoria St., St. Paul MN), with a one-hour visitation prior. Interment service on August 17, 12:00 at Fort Snelling,
