Matt Richey-Todd

Age 54, of Cottage Grove Died at home in mid-January, 2021, from complications of his long struggle with alcoholism. Matt was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on August 24, 1966, the child of Marjorie Olsen Richey and Drake Richey. The mother brought the boy to St. Paul and soon Matt, together with his little sister Molly, took charge of the family formed by Marjorie and husband, Thomas Todd. After graduating from Cretin High School and later from St. Paul Technical College, Matt made a long career in printing customer service and transportation management with CHS (Land O'Lakes/Cenex). Matt was a talented guitarist who, as a young man, performed with his bands The Offenders and Rocket 88. He continued jamming with friends throughout his life and was especially fond of the blues. Matt was preceded in death by mother Marjorie and father Drake. He is survived by sister Molly; dad Thomas; ex-wife Lisa Richey-Todd; best friend Keevin Furlong; Pete, Dan, Charley and a coterie of other longtime friends and bandmates; and his canine and feline friends Allie, Max, and Tyson.
