Matthew Joseph Kisch, Jr was born in Minneapolis on September 9, 1942 to Matthew and Josephine Kisch where he lived with his parents and siblings until the sudden and untimely death of his mother led the family to move to the Kisch family home on View Street in St Paul in 1950. At this time Matthew contracted polio the effects of which lasted the rest of his life.
Matthew continued his education at St Francis de Sales elementary school, Cretin high school, and the University of St Thomas from which he received his BA in accounting.
After a few job changes, he found a most rewarding position with Bokers Inc. At Bokers he found encouragement and opportunities to develop his administration and technical abilities culminating at his retirement as Director of Administration and member of the Board of Directors.
Despite the effects of polio Matthew participated in sports and outdoor activities including basketball, tennis, power boating, and sailing trips in the Bahamas.
In the last 20 years of his life, Matthew did extensive overseas travel including trips to Malta, Spain, Austria, and the Netherlands. But his favorite was the UK. He travelled extensively in England, Scotland, and Wales. Of all the places he visited, London was by far his favorite. He thoroughly enjoyed the historical buildings and cultural offerings available at venues such as the National Theatre, Wigmore Hall, British Museum, Tate Britain, and Royal Academy among many others.
Matthew died December 9, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Sr. and Josephine Rose (Hable) Kisch and brother John Kisch. Survived by his sister Mary Jo (Richard) Skaggs; sister-in-law Kathleen, nephew Matthew (Angie), and many cousins, friends and colleagues.
