(August 5, 1949 - February 20, 2016), Age 66 of St. Paul passed away Saturday, Feb 20 after a long battle with heart disease. Molly was an Army Brat who grew up in New Jersey, New York, Minnesota, Okinawa and Alabama before returning to St. Paul where she graduated from Our Lady of Peace High School in 1967 and attended the University of Minnesota. Molly was famous for her conversation and cooking, especially her homemade caramels at Christmas. She loved playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends, especially the OLP girls. Molly was preceded in death by father, Jerome Sweeney, and brother, Kevin Sweeney. She was the beloved first born of Mary Ellen Sweeney (nee McGough); beloved wife of 42 years to Frank, proud mom of Sean (Monica Garafola), Meghan and Seamus; proud grandma of Hunter, Alana, Graeme and Greer; beloved sister of Timothy Sweeney, Moira (Paul) Heinicke, Dennis, Terrence and Sheila (John Rains) Sweeney. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends. A celebration of Molly's life will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 1900 Stanford Ave. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM preceding Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, to be followed by a luncheon in Steiner Hall at Nativity.
