Luger, Patricia A. (Schmitt)
Patricia was born in St. Paul, MN, to Edward & Loretta Schmitt on Oct. 24, 1928 and died June 12, 2007 in Denair, CA. She was a graduate of Visitation Convent High School in St. Paul and St. Scholastica College, Duluth, majoring in English and Journalism, then earned a Master Degree in Elementary Education from the Univ. of Colorado, Greeley and an Ed. SP Degree in Guidance and Counseling at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, with further graduate work at Univ. of Minnesota, U of North Dakota, Montessori Institute in Bersamo, Italy, as a Fulbright Scholar. She taught Special Ed. In many places in Colorado. She also taught at Eastern Montana College in Billings, as well as at the Dept. of Education in Modesto, at Cal-State Stanislaus College and a Chapman College, California. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen M. Schmitt. Survived by sister, Bette Yaeger-Smith, husband Jack. Nieces Donna Yeager, Sandra (Geoff) Bodeau, Kathy (Bill) Byers. Nephews Mark (Nancy) Yaeger, Gregory (Nancy Ann) Yaeger, John (Tami) Yaeger, Jim (Julie) Yaeger. Eighteen grand-nieces and nephews. Cousins Jackie Savolainen and Sue Bolger. Pat was devoted to teaching and traveled extensively worldwide. She was an avid reader, loved visiting with friends and was always surrounded by her adoring poodles.
