Peter “Teddy Bear” a.k.a. “Sweet Pete”, died peacefully at home Monday surrounded by his loving family. Peter couragesously battled kidney cancer for 4 years. Born to Barbara Suzanne & Lennard M. Gebhart, Peter grew up in a military family. As a child he lived on both the East and West coast. A 1980 graduate of First Colonial HS in Virginia Beach, VA. He also served proudly and honorably in the USAF from 1983 – 1987. After the military, Peter took the communication skills he learned from the Air Force and worked as a Senior Computer Operator/Supervisor for several computer companies, lastly Unisys in Eagan, MN., from 1997 – 2007.
He is preceded in death by his mother Barbara in 1998. Peter is survived by his beautiful and true love of his life, Judith Mae whom he married on Valentine’s Day 1997. Peter & Judith made a home for their 4 children in Cottage Grove, MN. He is also survived by father Lennard & his wife June; Loving son’s Timothy & Thomas Gebhart; Step-children Drew & Christa; sister Melissa Ryder & brother Matthew Gebhart; god-son Steven Eichler; his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
