Richard Roy Cameron, 67, of Forest Lake, MN, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, in Forest Lake, MN, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 14, 1957, in Virginia, MN, to June and Fay Cameron, he graduated from Hibbing High School, where he met his beloved wife, Paula (nee Dougherty).
During his high school years, he was an exceptional tennis player and volunteered his time helping the mentally challenged. He participated in debate club, drum corps, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Richard enjoyed literature, learning, listening to talk radio, watching old movies and sports, and fishing with his sons. He possessed intuitive technical expertise and a logical mind, particularly working on mechanical systems and vehicles. He dedicated himself professionally as the Vice President of Operations at Dahlquist Machine for over 20 years. He will be remembered for his sharp sense of humor, great hair, and keen intellect.
Preceded in death by his sister Catherine, and parents June and Fay. Survived by his wife, Paula (nee Dougherty); his sons, Patrick (Amelia), Brian (Alison), Timothy, and John (Megan); his cherished grandchildren, Robert, June, Julian, and Lillian; his sister Mary (James) Vaccari and his brother William (Celia); his brothers-in-law: Mark (Kathleen) Dougherty, Steven (Kathleen) Dougherty, Michael Dougherty, and Steven Davison; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Peter in Forest Lake, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025. There will be a visitation at the church one hour before the service and a reception following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic School.
