Passed away May 15, 2011 surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gwen; sister Gertrude; and parents Irwin & Rose Coates. Survived by daughter Kathy (Steve) Fahey; grandchildren Sidney Diaz, Wende (Tim) Rieth; great-grandchildren Isaiah & Levi Rieth; sister Betty Lukasik. Richard grew up in St. Paul and worked as an architect. He met and married the love of his life, Gwen Solum, in 1961. He loved sailing with friends and with his sweetheart on White Bear Lake. We will miss his humor and his unique ideas. Memorial Gathering will be held at KESSLER & MAGUIRE 640 W. 7th St. 651-224-2341 Friday May 20 from 4-7 PM.
