Richard Griepentrog

Richard M. Griepentrog was born on September 14, 1944 in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Martin F. and Etta L. Griepentrog of Park Falls, Wisconsin. Richard is survived by his half-sister, Jacqueline C. (Grassel) Paasch of Midlothian, Virginia. After graduating from Lincoln High School in Park Falls, Wisconsin, Richard attended Ashland Vocational School in the discipline of Maintenance Training (completed June 1965). Richard was inducted the U.S. Army on May 11, 1967 and served his country during the Vietnam War.

Richard received an honorable discharge.

Richard attended the University of Minnesota from 1981 – 1983, graduating with an Associated Arts and Social Science Degree. Richard loved the Lord and joined him on February 2, 2015. Richard enjoyed sporting events and teams including the University of Minnesota Gophers, Minnesota Twins, and Minnesota Vikings………being a faithful and dedicated fan no matter the season results. Richard enjoyed theater, arts, music, and church. One of his callings was to try to assist and encourage people in their daily struggles. Richard liked to help others and had many good friends. Richard will have a memorial service at Kessler and Maguire Funeral Home and a committal service in Fort Snelling National Cemetery on May 15, 2015 at 11:45 am Assembly Area # 5.
