Robert Gordon Zinn

Robert (Bob) Gordon Zinn (age 92) passed away on November 6, 2024. Born July 7, 1932, Bob grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He left High School for the US Air Force and served as a Staff Sergeant in Korea during the Korean War. After returning to the United States he married Mary Jo Rozmajzl on January 27, 1956. He completed his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and moved to the Twin Cities area of Minnesota where he lived the remainder of his life. 

Bob had a successful career in process engineering for Honeywell. He served on the Minnetrista Planning Commission for many years as that area grew and developed. Bob enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, playing in the yard, and attending the children’s and grandchildren’s events. Bob loved being with his family. He was an avid do-it-yourselfer and always had several projects underway around the house.

Bob is survived by his wife Mary Jo Zinn and four sons, Steve (Nancy) Zinn, Greg (Sylvia) Zinn, Chris (Sarilyn) Zinn and Jeff (Sandra Smith) Zinn along with grandchildren Lauren, Jaime, Phillip, Natalie, and Aidan.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM (noon), Thursday, November 21, 2024 at The Fort Snelling Chapel (1 Tower Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55450) with a visitation at one hour prior (11:00 AM). There will be brief internment ceremony at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. A light luncheon will follow the ceremony.
