Ronald (Ron) McKay

Ron “Lefty” McKay (age 89) passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Janet. Ron is survived by his children Debra (Mark) Skoog, Daniel (Sheryl) McKay, Denise Simon and David McKay; He was a proud and loving Papa to 8 grandchildren Matthew (Mindy) McKay, Melissa McKay, Mike McKay, Owen Turgeon, Sean Simon, Ryan (Hannah) Simon, Ally McKay and Mallory (Nick) Knutsen; and 7 great-grandchildren Devyn McKay, Layna McKay, Jayda McKay, Zayden McKay, Johnny McKay, Jakey McKay and Lilah Simon. Also survived by his “S.O” Dorothy Torgersen and his beloved dog Buster “The Kid”; and many other friends and family. Ron loved spending time with his family, was a huge sports fan, avid outdoorsman, talented athlete and friend of Bill W for 43 years. He had an amazing sense of humor, the gift of gab, loved his garden and canning tomatoes. He also loved spending winters in Arizona. He will be deeply missed and will forever remain in our hearts. A memorial service will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 4030 Pilot Knob Rd., Eagan, MN 55122 on Wednesday October 30, 2024, at 10 AM with visitation 1 hour prior.
