11/5/27-4/26/09. Age 81 years, died at home surrounded by family after a brief illness.



Preceded in death by parents Harry and Ingeborg Jordan, sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Harold Reed, brother David, brothers-in-law Charles Tinsley and Lester Still, and his very best friend, his dog “Beau”. Survived by his wife of 54 years Marianne (Schwartz), seven daughters, sons-in law, and fourteen grandchildren: Deborah and Jim Povolny Sr. and family Maria and Matt Gonko, Jim Jr. and Donita Povolny, Krista and Laura Povolny; Jody Johnson and Jim Johnson and family Shelley and Chad Chaves, Tim and Ben Johnson; Jean and Mike Seivert Sr. and family Lauren and Michael Seivert Jr.; Donna and Jim Gironda and sons Michael and Jason of Winchester VA; Dianne and Dave Lofgren and daughter Ashley; Sandy and Jeff Kirkpatrick and family Jordan and Justin of Fairview, TX; Tammy Jordan. Seven great grandchildren; Madelin, Miranda, Makenna, and Mason Gonko, James III and Eli Povolny, Olivia Chaves and baby Povolny and baby Chaves due in May. Also survived by two sisters Margaret Still of CA and Dorothy Tinsley of ID, sisters-in-law Helen Van Heel and Lorraine Leppla, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 33 year aircraft and engine mechanic and lead inspector for North Central/Republic/Northwest Airlines. Served two years in the army and one year in the Air Force. Avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, carpenter, and electrician. Mass of Christian burial at St. Francis de Sales Church , 650 Palace Street , St. Paul at 10:00 a.m., Friday May 1, 2009. Visitation at the church Thursday, April 30, 2009 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the mass on Friday. Arrangements by Kessler & Maguire. Burial at Fort Snelling . Memorials to church of St. Francis de Sales or charity of donor’s choice are appreciated.
