Our beloved mother, Shirley Mary Hanrahan, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 22nd, 2024, at age 84 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Wayne Edward Hanrahan, her parents Henry and Delores Vitous, grandparents Lee and Veronica Forbes and Grandmother Anna Vitous. She is survived by her children, Wayne Edward Hanrahan II and wife LuAnn, daughter, Laurie Marie (Hanrahan) Hoffman and husband Brian, sister, Janet LeHew, brothers, Michael, and James Vitous, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and pup Annabelle.
Our ‘Momma” loved to sew, draw and paint and would listen to Johnny Cash or John Denver while doing her crafts. Pink Flamingos, ladybugs and chocolate were favorites of hers. When you told her, “I love you”, she would always answer back, “I love you too!” She was proud to have been a mother and housewife. Adding treasures to her collections, riding the carousel at Como Park and spending time with her children and grandchildren were her greatest joys.
Her love of Jesus was infinite, and her faith kept her will to live strong until Our Lord called her home. Momma had a kind heart for people and animals. She was always willing to help. Her wonderful smile and loving heart will be missed immensely by family and friends. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will always smile and remember her when they look at their Christmas stockings and the beautiful ornaments that she made for them.
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” John 11:25-26
