McMahon,Terry Martin -- Adored husband, best dad ever, a friend to everyone, Terry Martin McMahon, 73, passed away peacefully on Oct 26.
He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Sue Murphy McMahon, his children; Erin (Damien) Rock and Connor McMahon; siblings, Richard (JoAnn); Leo (Micki); Cecelia; William (Rita); Robert (Teresa); and Mary (Mark) Perry; as well as many adored nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Kenneth and Mabel McMahon, and his beloved little girl Courtney Kate.
Terry graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA in 1972. He was named conference MVP and All-MIAC as a senior in 1972. He played on three MIAC champion teams, and played on three NAIA national tournament teams in Kansas City. He later was inducted into both the St Thomas and Mancini’s Hall of Fame. He was an insurance agent for many years, and an incredible pillar of the community. He selflessly volunteered countless hours with the St Paul Police Department and West 7th Boys Club. He loved being a dad and uncle, and never met a stranger. He also was a father figure to many kids over the years, teaching them everything from fishing and driving, to flawlessly delivering jokes. While Terry still owes many of you a drink, if you want to track him down in heaven, he will gladly let you buy him another. Terry will be remembered for his infectious laugh, and heart of gold. He was always one for the Irish goodbye, and in true Terry fashion, he left us with the ultimate Irish goodbye. We will all miss him dearly.
