Theodore “Ted” P. Kurhajetz. Age 72, Lifelong resident of St. Paul, MN passed away unexpectedly on Sunday December 15, 2024. He was a beloved brother, loving uncle, and loyal friend.
Ted was best known for being a devoted friend and supportive family member. He was a member of the class of 1970 at Cretin High School and then attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Ted served in the United States Navy and later went on to work in publishing for Minnesota’s Bookstore until his retirement. At the bookstore, Ted took great pleasure in mentoring new employees and “showing them the ropes.” Ted enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and was happiest spending quality time with friends and family. He enjoyed visiting restaurants throughout St. Paul, especially for Italian food in recognition of his mother’s heritage.
Ted was deeply interested in photography and was involved in different photography clubs throughout the years. He was also passionate about audiovisual technology, always looking to find the perfect image and the clearest sound. Ted enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for these hobbies and interests with everyone. As committed as he was to his passions, it is his deep commitment to his friends and family that will be missed most of all.
Ted was preceded in death by father Edward, mother Pearl, and niece Theresa. Survived by brothers Edward of Edina, MN, and Robert (Evelyn) of Falls Church, VA; nephews Christopher (Stacey) and Michael (Hilary) and nieces Sarah (Jeffrey), Gretchen (Doug), and Sonia; honorary siblings Michael and Susan Walker.
